Congressman King Holding Cap and
Trade Forum in Sioux City
Congressman Steve King will host a forum
on "cap and trade" legislation on Monday, July 6, in
Sioux City. The event is open to the public,
and concerned citizens from Western Iowa and the
tri-state area are invited to come and discuss the cap
and trade bill and its effect on the Midwest.
King will be joined by a panel of energy experts
representing the electric generation and transmission
industry, the renewable fuels industry and the
agricultural sector. In addition to offering thoughts
and comments during the forum, concerned citizens are
encouraged to provide Congressman King with written
thoughts on the legislation. Written testimony can be
delivered to Congressman King at the forum, sent to his
Sioux City office at 526 Nebraska Street, Sioux City,
Iowa 51101 or faxed to 712-224-4693. Concerned citizens
can call 712-224-4692 for more information on the forum.
WHEN: Monday, July 6,
1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Western Iowa Tech (WIT) campus in Sioux
City, Room D103.
Attendees should park in Lot#4 and enter thru Entrance
#14. The entrance is directly across from the KWIT
campus radio station.
The event will proceed as scheduled even though the
legislation passed in the US House with Congressman King
voting no. It will still be considered by the US Senate
and this forum promises to provide more information to
the public on this legislation the Congressman called a
colossal mistake.

Tom Shaw - Independent
Candidate For Iowa House (District 8)
Yesterday was a very interesting day
for me. I made my first ever
appearance on a radio program and had the opportunity to
explain my
candidacy. It was great to hear the amount of support
throughout the
state for an independent candidate. If you missed the
show, you can
download it here:
